The Dominica Amateur Basketball Association in collaboration with DA Sports Vibes and 767 Sports Club is all set to hosting a grand fundraising basketball event on Saturday.

The event will take place in the community of St. Joseph.

This is in aid of a young basketballer from the St. Joseph community, Johnathan Mills who is currently attending school in the U.S and in need of assistance with his tuition fee.

“So, we’re going to have this grand event down at St. Joseph and it’s going to include at least three matches. One will be a celebrity All-Star game to be followed by the 767 All-Stars, an All-Star team from Roseau and environs, and they’re going to take on a Northern All-Star team,” President of the Dominica Amateur Basketball Association noted.

The highlight of the event will be a one-on-one match-up between the DABA President and two-time OECS Championships MVP, Fletcher LeBlanc.

“This match is going to be the highlight of the whole event…the bet is the looser has to cut their beard and none of us wants to cut our beard. It’s going to be a nice match, very entertaining.”

Peters called on the public to come out and support the worthy cause. A contribution is also required from the fans on the evening.
