ST JOHN’S, Antigua, Thursday February 24, 2011 – A LIAT plane carrying 47 passengers from Dominica to Antigua had to be diverted to Guadeloupe yesterday.

The company issued a release confirming that LI 320 landed at the Le Raizet Airport after “an indicator light illuminated in the cockpit”.

“As a precautionary procedure, emergency services were on standby and the landing was uneventful with no injury to passengers or crew or damage to the aircraft,” it said.

LIAT said arrangements were made for the affected passengers to be accommodated on another of the airline’s services.

The aircraft was examined by the company’s maintenance staff and has to undergo the various checks before returning to the skies.
