A twelfth coronavirus case was announced moments ago by National Epidemiologist, Dr Shalauddin Ahmed.
At the Ministry of Health press briefing this evening, he revealed that a 70 year old woman from Marigot, considered index case number three, comes from a different community than the majority of the previously confirmed cases.
The patient has been hospitalised and is clinically stable, as are the other 11 cases, some of whom are asymptomatic.
Dr Ahmed stated that 37 contacts have been traced back to the three index cases, 17 of those have been tested, nine are confirmed positive, eight tested negative, 20 others are pending but are in home quarantine.
From the nine positive cases, 29 contacts have been traced, 24 tested negative and are also in home quarantine.
According to him, 185 tests have so far been conducted, 173 have come back negative for COVID19.
