The Veille Case Health Center completion date should be confirmed by mid-April this year.
This is according to Honorable Prime Minister and Parliamentary Representative of the Veille Case constituency, Roosevelt Skerrit.
The project which began in October last year, is part of plans to enhance the health care system in Dominica.
On the construction site on Thursday, Honorable Skerrit assured that the new structure is being erected with the ultimate goal of climate resilience in mind.
“This health center will be hurricane proof and all part of the resilience building efforts in our country. Whatever structures we put in we are mindful of our exposure to the natural disasters, not only hurricanes but also seismic activities so the designs and the engineering took into consideration the seismic activities in Dominica,” he remarked
He adds, “[the new health center] will certainly be with us for a very long time.”
The Veille Case Health Center project is being funded by the Citizenship By Investment (CBI) program
The Prime Minister further assured that, “Things are looking up where health services are concerned. We know this is a topical issue in Dominica-the delivery of health care services, the facilities. So we are seeking to respond to the challenges and to the concerns of the society and I think we are well on our way with that.”
He also expressed his anticipation for continued cooperation among stakeholders.
