MP Poponne-Skerrit Gets Unpaid Government Position

Hon Roseau Central Parliamentary Representative, Melissa Poponne-Skerrit has been given a newly-established and unsalaried Cabinet position.

This is in addition to her elected representation of the capital constituency.

The Hon Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit announced on Tuesday evening that she will chair a commission in the Office of the Prime Minister.

“Chairperson of the Commission for Roseau Vision 2025, Parliamentary Representative for Roseau Central, Mrs Melissa Poponne-Skerrit,” he announced.

“This is not a ministerial post but an unpaid government role located within the office of the Prime Minister. The chairperson will have the important responsibility to give impetus to revitalizing Roseau, liaising with the private sector, activities related to the creative economy and supporting youth in business,” he detailed.
