UWP Protestors vandalise Roseau

Protestors  took to the street this evening in what is described as protest action for electoral reform.

For the past few days some have gathered in the vicinity of the Office of the President seeking an audience with the President, His Excellency Charles Savarin to discuss their call to have the Chairman of the Electoral Commission step down and their demands for Voter Identification Cards

Things turned for the worst tonight as  protestors vandalised the city turning out garbage cans, uprooting potted plants and setting on fire debris in the streets.

The Salisbury highway has alsovbeen barred with debris and fire.

Tomorrow November 19th, is Nomination Day in Dominica as the country anticipates general elections on December 6, 2019.   United Workers Party supporters have declared that there will be no elections without electoral reform.
