The MV Mein Schiff of TUI Cruises made its first call to Dominica on Thursday, November 14, 2019. The vessel arrived at the Roseau Cruise Ship Berth at 7:30 am and will depart at 7:00 pm. The vessel will bring approximately 2890 cruise passengers to the island’s shores. This will be the ship’s first of sixteen (16) projected calls to the island for the 2019/2020 cruise season.
As is customary, to commemorate the ship’s first call, a ceremony to include plaque exchange took place aboard ship at 10:00am to welcome the passengers and crew. A plaque depicting Dominica’s National Bird, the Sisserou Parrot, was presented to the ships’ captain. Government officials and cruise stakeholders were present at the ceremony.
A series of cultural entertainment will be held on the Dame Mary Eugenia Charles Boulevard from
8:00 am to 4:00 pm. A total of 160 cruise calls are projected for the 2019/2020 cruise season. This
translates into a total of 288,159 cruise passengers.
DDA solicits the cooperation of all tourism stakeholders in ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable experience for the cruise visitors. The Government of Dominica will continue its effort in promoting Dominica as a desirable cruise destination so as to increase cruise calls to Dominica.
