Thirty-five thousand dollars has been handed over to the Dublanc/Bioche Village Council meant to go to sports development.
Hon Parliamentary Representative for the Colihaut Constituency, Lady Catherine Daniel made the presentation to the council on Wednesday, October 16th at a small ceremony in Dublanc. She says the village council is expected to work with the Sports Division to complete work on the sporting pavilion.
“One of the areas about which the sporting community has been troubled is the sporting pavilion. We gave some money and started [the project] and other agencies assisted but we are still refurbishing the playing field.”
She added, “I have come here today to deliver a cheque to go towards the completion of the pavilion. As we move forward, we will assess and see what else needs to be done. We have to work collaboratively with the Ministry for Sports so that we get the finished product that we want.”
Chairman of the Dublanc/Bioche Village Council, Curtis Francois thanked Government for what he says is a timely contribution to the vision for development in Dublanc.
Francois said, “Dublanc as we know has really been doing well in sports and to improve that, we need assistance like this to go further to enhance the facilities: football, cricket and others. This is the development that we are talking about so that as a community we can move forward.”
