The people of the Mahaut constituency have been promised an improvement in the area of sports management.
Their Hon Parliamentary representative, Rayburn Blackmoore who will be running for another term at the next elections says he plans to establish a sporting council.
At his official endorsement ceremony on Thursday, October 3rd in Mahaut, Hon Blackmoore expressed that the council will bring organisation and growth in sports.
He also highlighted that Massacre is home to sports enthusiasts who will greatly benefit from the sports council.
“Already we have gotten the money and we have people who are part of the council to get our young people from a very early age to be involved in sports that will give rise to the wholesome development. We must find creative ways for young people to dissipate their energy. One of the most creative ways is through sports.
We will upgrade the playing fields in Mahaut and Massacre. Work on the indoor basketball court has already begun. We will standardize the way that basketball is played in this wonderful constituency. We have produced the best national basketball players in Dominica in Jeff Jeremy Suaz and Ashworth Daniel of Massacre. Massacre is the home for basketball.”
