The Miss Wob Dwiyet 2019 pageant is in high gear and ready to be showcased.
Speaking with Dominica Vibes, Chief Cultural Officer, Raymond Lawrence, relayed that one participant from each of the seven districts will be vying for the title of Miss Wob 2019.
“Myra Bruno of Warner representing the west, Shayida Francois of Paix Bouche representing the north; Sasha John-Carbon of Castle Bruce representing the east; Tahirah Jno Baptiste of Petite Savanne representing the south; Tamica Tavernier of Soufriere representing the south-west; Nicarla Hector of Grand Fond representing the south-east and Aliya Shillingford of Calibishie representing the north-east.
He says preparations for the upcoming pageant have running smoothly, referring also to the Madame Wob Dwiyet Pageant.
Lawrence also expressed pleasure in having all districts onboard, encouraging patrons to come out and show support.
“They have been practicing and prepared their outfits for the rounds,” he said., “Things are looking up for the Miss and Madame Wob Dwiyet Shows. It has been some years since we have had all seven districts represented and we are expecting a show of quality and great participation from the community especially the represented communities.
“The show is open to everyone who wants to come. These shows are usually very appealing and exciting.
We are inviting the public to come out and support both shows”
The National Miss Wob Dwiyet Pageant is scheduled for Thursday 24th October 2019 at the Old Mill Cultural Center from 8:00 p.m and promises entertainment by the Swinging Stars Band and others.
