Gynaecologist and former United Works Party Candidate for the St. Joseph Constituency, Dr. Curvin Ferreira has publicly endorsed Dominica Labour Party (DLP) candidate for his constituency Dr. Adis King.
Speaking during Dr. King’s official launching on Sunday, Dr. Ferreira, who contested the St. Joseph seat on a UWP ticket in 2005, said that the current DLP administration has brought about the change he longed for when he was allied with UWP.
“I did run against labour in 2005; but 2005, my friends, is in my dim and distant past. In truth, all what I have sought have been achieved by successive labour governments. Therefore, Dominica, we must not make that fatal error of turning back. Dominica, you must not turn against the tides, you must not turn the red rising tides of labour that has raised so many boats. It should be obvious to you then that the Dr. Hon Roosevelt Skerrit must remain here to complete the job that he started,” he remarked.
Dr. Ferreira labeled the current UWP as a “counterfeit” saying it is a far cry from when he was a candidate.
“Simply said, brothers and sisters, Lennox Linton is no Eddison James. I continue to be astonished by this irony: a party that calls itself ‘Workers’, it is dominated by people who refuse to work. If you observe them you will see that they are daydreaming, they are daydreaming while wide awake hoping that by some form of fate they would get into government,” he stated.
