Prime Minister, Honorable Roosevelt Skerrit

Prime Minister Hon Roosevelt Skerrit has revealed that a groundbreaking ceremony for a new Cruise Ship Village and Cargo Port is on the cards for October 2019.  Honorable Skerrit made this announcement during the official launch of the Dominica Labour Party Candidate for the Roseau North Constituency, Hon Joseph Isaac on Sunday.

“Before Independence, I’m going to invite all of you to join me at the Woodbridge Bay for the unveiling of the design for what will be the most modern and picturesque cruise and cargo facility in the entire Caribbean,” he told supporters.

He noted that this will not only transform the cruise tourism industry but will modernize the way business is conducted in the country. According to the Prime Minister,  residents of the Roseau North constituency shall be the main beneficiaries of such a facility.

Among other improvements to the country, the Prime Minister stated that a factory is being erected in Dominica for the production of prefabricated concrete and steel reinforced houses.

“In a few months, we will move from importing the technology to exporting homes to nearby islands in the Eastern Caribbean.”

This, he believes, is evidence of the DLP’s quest to move Dominica to the next level.
