Government pledges to help ‘Juice-Man’ rebuild

Dominica Labour Party (DLP) Candidate for the Roseau North Constituency Hon. Joseph Isaac has announced that the Government of Dominica stands ready to assist Fredrick ‘Juice-Man’ Joseph, the proprietor of well-known , “Juice Man Cafe & Night Club” whose building was engulfed by fire on the evening of June 24, 2019.

Honourable Isaac made this announcement to the media during a press conference on June 25, 2019.

According to the Minister, “If you look at the government policy it has always been driven by trying to ensure that people are empowered. So as for Juiceman, we have to look at all the different angles of empowering him. So first we will assess and evaluate and discuss with him… once we’ve done that we will see what the situation is.”

He noted that presently the victims health is of utmost importance to Government and pledged that where needed the administration would do all all possible to ensure that he best copes with the situation at hand.

“We know he has lost a lot, not just material things, but he has lost things of sentimental value; because if you know Juiceman place there was a lot of artificial things he told me that his mom passed on to him, so psychologically that was a major blow to him so I’m concerned  about that aspect ,” he said.

He further added, “It is a question also of rebuilding and building resilience in business so how do we do it, he’ll have the concept and the Government can now come in to provide him with technical advice, technical support and also financial support and as I said psychological support so he can go through the pressure of losing something.”
