DLP Candidate for the Marigot Constituency, Gregory ‘Karessah’ Riviere

Following the renouncement of Anicka Charles’ candidacy for the Marigot Constituency, calypsonian  Gregory “Karessah” Riviere has stepped in to fill the gap.

Speaking during the official launch of Dominica Labour Party (DLP) Candidate for the Wesley constituency, Fidel Grant on June 16, 2019, Riviere made his first public declaration as the new candidate to take on Opposition Leader Hon. Lennox Linton.

“Well I must tell you that I Gregory Brian ‘Karessah’ Riviere of Sams Gutter, Marigot, Dominica do solemnly and officially declare that I have accepted the call to be the candidate for the Dominica Labour Party for the Marigot Constituency and that will be for this coming elections. So help me Dominica, help me,” he declared.

According to him, this decision follows “careful and comprehensive assessment” of all political parties after which he concluded that the DLP is the best choice for the people.

“I have made this decision after careful and comprehensive assessment of all two and a half of the political parties and I came to the conclusion that the most prepared, the most capable, the most experienced, the most caring and the most ready political party to take this country forward is the Dominica Labour Party,” Riviere asserted.

He went on to note that residents in his consistency are eager for change which he stands ready to deliver.

The people of Marigot and Concord; a constituency that has decided to put its development before party colours; a constituency made up of independent thinkers, full of ambitions and has a growing appetite for change and their overwhelming support here today and their huge presence is testament that the Marigot constituency is ready for real change, and this change is with Greg and the labour party.”

The new candidate expressed his delight to be a part of such a formidable and competent team, which he says will take Dominica to the next level.
