Organizer of volume one the Papa Creole Extravaganza, Leroy “Wadix” Charles says that the stage is set for the upcoming ‘Papa Creole’ concert carded for June 15, 2019.
The show which will be held at the Windsor Park Stadium encompassing over 200 years of Dominica’s musical history is expected to be an iconic and once-in-a-lifetime experience.
“We are fully prepared as we get to highlight this historic and monumental first edition of the papa creole. The stage is well set, we are prepared, the venue preparation is around 95 percent ready and the hype, the whole excitement is building tremendously” Charles told Vibes.
Charles is urging patrons who haven’t purchased their tickets to not miss out on the occasion of witnessing what he describes as one of Dominica’s most momentous events.
“We’re actually appealing to everyone to make sure that you’re part of documenting history. Make sure you’re part of history as this event has never been orchestrated in Dominica before. So we’re looking forward to seeing patrons from all corners of Dominica who really love good authentic creole music; the place to be is at the Windsor Park sports stadium, the place to be Saturday where history will be made”.
In commemoration of this notable occasion, a special award ceremony was held on Friday evening (June 14th) at the Fort Young Hotel where legendary forces such as Gordon Henderson, Vivian Wallace, Halibut, Fitzroy Williams, Phillip ‘Chubby’ Mark, Derik ‘Rah’ Peter, Cornel ‘Fingers’ Phillip, and many more were recognized for their valuable achievement to Dominica’s music.
