Prime Minister and Leader of the Dominica Labour Party, Honorable  Roosevelt Skerrit considers the plans of the United Workers Party, “stale and unattractive.”

He was addressing a crowd of supporters at the launching of Octavia Alfred on Sunday 19th May at Castle Bruce.

The DLP leader pointed out that a vast majority of the United Workers Party’s (UWP)  plans have already been implemented by his administration and referred to the other ideas as “Pie from the Sky Ideas.”

“There is little difference between the campaign promises of the Workers party and the record achievements of the Dominica Labour Party. Ninety percent of what they say they will do, Labour has already done it or in the process of doing it. The other ten percent is unlikely ever to happen because they cannot say where their first dollar will come from to finance their pie-in -the -sky ideas,” Skerrit said.

“Who would their global friends be? Lennox Linton, are you banking on the same Labour Party friends and alliances that you cursed and ridiculed for the last twenty years?”

“This country cannot afford too many loans. So I want to know where will your grant funding come from, I want to know which countries around the world will be your strongest Alliance.”

The leader of the UWP , Honorable Lennox Linton has presented a number of plans once elected into office, a few of these plans include immigration control, constitutional amendments, the provision of 27,000 jobs and the construction of an international airport by 2024.
