Police announce Temporary Traffic Arrangement for UWP rally on Sunday

In respect to the United Workers Party political meeting scheduled for Sunday 19th May 2019, the Dominica Police Force has implemented temporary changes in traffic flow for this weekend.

According to acting Superintendent  of Police, Leian Edwards, the Dame Eugenia Charles Boulevard between the intersections of Kennedy Avenue and King George V street will be blocked from vehicular entry from 9:00 p.m. this evening, Saturday 18th May 2019.
In addition, motorists travelling South of the Dame Eugenia Charles Boulevard will turn left into Kennedy Avenue, while motorists travelling North will turn into King George V street.
Meanwhile, Motorists travelling West along Cork Street, near Fresh Market will turn right into Long Lane at the intersection of Long Lane and Cork Street.
The public is also informed that no parking will be allowed at the UWP public meeting between the intersection of Kennedy Avenue and King George V street on the Dame Eugenia Charles Boulevard.
The western parking lane on the boulevard will be used as an emergency lane and must remain free from obstruction.
However, public parking will be allowed in the city of Roseau and motorists must adhere to all traffic signs.
The above Traffic amendments will remain in effect until the area is cleared of all obstructions on or before 2:00 a.m,  Monday 20th May 2019.
