Carrying out her Carnival Queen Pageant platform, ‘Fostering humanity through human services’, Annick Williams has decided to embark on a journey to feed the needy and less fortunate through a feeding program.
Williams informed DA Vibes in an interview that The Annick Streets Meal was established as a result of her compassion for helping others.
“Before the show I promised myself I would have a meal program for them (the vagrants) because they walk the streets and the way they are treated by people is not nice. It is my goal to feed them and ensure that one day I can get them off the streets.”
Williams explained that her journey began on Saturday 20th April, accompanied by reigning Carnival Queen, Marisol John and past contestant, Britney Felix. She set a goal then to feed at least twenty vagrants.
However, in order to keep her venture in motion, Miss Williams is in need of assistance. She says she looks forward to a partnership from the government.
“It’s always good to help someone, it is a blessing. I would also like to sound a call to the government to come on board to take them (the vagrants) off the streets because feeding them alone is not enough.”
The Humanitarian at heart, as she calls herself announced that nevertheless, her program is currently within the vicinity of Roseau, she seeks to expand to the town of Portsmouth.
Ms. Williams represented the community of Goodwill in the 2019 National Queen Pageant.
