In an effort to improve the quality of customer service within the Dominica Airport and Seaport Authorities (DASPA), the company has introduced a new designed uniform for staff. The uniforms were launched at the beginning of DASPA’s customer service training on Monday 29th April 2019 at the DASPA conference room.
Financial Comptroller of DASPA, Oliver Henderson informed that, “The brown uniform has been used for many years and like everything else, as time goes along its very important to make a change. The yellow and black uniform is the new look DASPA. We are trying to ensure that when persons approach a security that they know this is DASPA in general. And so therefore we saw the need to give them a new color that would brighten up the ambiance, so to speak for the securities.”
Meanwhile, the customer service training, facilitated by Avenice Thompson from St. Kitts Nevis is meant to enhance DASPA’s security ability in making the customer’s first and last impression count while maintaining integrity and standards required for security within the airport and seaport environment.
“If any port has to survive financially and otherwise, customer service must be at the port,” Thompson said while addressing DASPA staff at the beginning of training.
“Today you’re here with DASPA, tomorrow you’re somewhere else working. See it as a way to invest and improve your own self, just so you can improve your own way of life,” she advised.
The next security training will commence on May 13th 2019.
