The Ministry of Ecclesiastical Affairs, Family and Gender Affairs is prepared to hold a National Consultation for Church Leaders and Key Stakeholders on social-ills impacting the family.
The consultation, set for Wednesday 17th April 2019 at the Goodwill Parish Hall and will be held under the theme, “Strengthening Families, Building Communities.”
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Ecclesiastical Affairs, Helen Royer announced that the main objective of the consultation is “to identify cross-cutting issues across sectors that affect families and communities and to identify the various roles that these stake holders can take or should take in addressing these issues.”
“We also thought that the fact we are the Ministry of Ecclesiastical Affairs, we cannot do everything in regards to family issues or church issues and we thought that there would be need to establish a National Ecclesiastical and Family Gender Affairs Committee to lead efforts on the formulations of faith-based policies and to contribute to the goals and objectives of the Ministry,” Royer continued.
The Ministry of Ecclesiastical Affairs, Family and Gender Affairs is guided by the vision “to function as a catalyst for the improved spiritual social and economic well-being of the populace and to facilitate the transition to a more just and resilient society.”
The consultation will be carried live on Vibes Radio from 8:30 am to 10:30 am.
