Two Selected for Windward Island Senior Men Cricket Tournament

Batting all-rounder, Kyle Cabey and Wicket- keeper bat’s man, Casimir Benjamin have been chosen to represent Dominica in the Windward Island Senior Men Cricket Tournament in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Benjamin and Cabey were selected after a trial match on Mar. 16, 2019 and Mar. 17, 2019 at the Benjamin Park in Portsmouth.

The tournament is carded from Apr. 2, 2019 to Apr. 11, 2019.

In an interview with sports journalist, Garvin Richards, Casimir Benjamin expressed that he is very satisfied with being chosen to represent his country at such an important tournament.

“I tried my best and for a while I thought nothing was going to come out of it but I’m glad [that I] finally received a chance.”

The team will be captained by Windward Island Volcanoes player, Tyron Theophile who will be assisted by his vice-captain, Jerlani Robinson.

The 13-man squad also consists of Liam Sebastian, Tarj Tavernier, Alick Athanaze, Kershaski Jno.Lewis, Kevin James,Micah Joseph, Mervin Matthew, Kamal Hamilton and Vincent Lewis.

Jean Benjamin, Lex Magloire, Lincoln Durand and Yawani Registe have been placed on reserved.

PRO of the Dominica Cricket Association , Augustine Pascal informed DA Vibes that unfortunately, Kavem Hodge and Gillon Tyson opted have opted out of the tournament due to school commitments
