The Dominica National Youth Council is set to embark on an Island-wide Community Outreach and planned consultations for the next 19 days.
The outreach kicks off in the Community of Portsmouth.
In an interview with DA Vibes, President of the National Youth Council, Paul Baron stated that the mandate of the outreach is “for the soul -purpose of touching base with young leaders. Particularly the youth groups of different districts and confirming their needs.”
He said that additionally, the Council, plans to formalize and structure the various district youth councils which exists across the eight districts in Dominica.
“The district youth councils are in fact a critical component of the National Youth Council of Dominica’s framework. [As] it allows for those individuals to manage the affairs of youth at the various districts and within their various communities and to determine the priorities of Dominica youth as far as their development is concerned.”
Baron confirmed to DA Vibes that the Dominica National Youth Council is grateful for the support of the Government of Dominica and that the outreach will end on Apr. 06, 2019.
