DCA pledges support to partner with DCUA

“There is no need for division, no need for separation, there is great need for unity.” This was said by President of the Dominica Cricket Association (DCA), Glen Joseph.

Glen Joseph said this at a Dominica Cricket Umpires Association (DCUA) General Meeting at the Patrick John Football House on Mar. 13, 2019. He emphasized that there is great need for better collaboration between the DCA and the DCUA moving forward. “We cannot continue business as usual and expect to exceed.”

Joseph also mentioned that the DCA has seen a need to partner with the DCUA not only for business but in a social aspect too.

President of the DCUA, Heston Charles, expressed that the DCUA is open to partnering with the DCA as he too has seen the need for this partnership.

At this meeting the Training Officer and Former President of the DCUA, Lennox Abraham, encouraged the umpires to take their position as an umpire seriously. He also urged them to learn from their mistakes in order to better themselves. “You cannot correct a bad decision with a bad decision” he stressed.

The DCUA General Meeting was concluded with the election of a new executive, this election was the first in four years.

The elected DCUA executive are as follows:

  • President: Andy Wiliams
  • Vice-President: Micheal Royer
  • Secretary: Meritha Hyacinth
  • Treasurer: Claudius Sandford
  • Assistant Secretary/Treasurer: Daryl Titre
  • Committee Member: Lennard Dangleben and Lennox Abraham
