“Famalay” Video shoot in Dominica

In recognition of the upward movement of local and regional Bouyon Music releases, the Ministry of Tourism and Culture commends all of the contributors to Dominica’s musical identity.

On the heels of a successful 2019 Carnival Season, of which Bouyon Music was the cause of much discussion, acknowledgement is given for the input of musicians, artists, producers, promoters, the private sector and supporters as a whole.

According to the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Tourism and Culture go hand in hand and the Ministry remains fully committed to supporting marketable, export-ready Bouyon Music.

The ministry encourages all the players in this sector to continue to positively push the art form via various platforms and the Government of Dominica, and in return, will continue to support Culture and Arts through increased investment in Festivals and other events, Cultural Infrastructure, Training, and Low-Interest Financing for the Music Industry.

As such, The Ministry of Tourism and Culture, through the Discover Authority via a press release, has expressed their pleasure in facilitating the filming of the Dominica segment of the “Famalay” official music video which has outstandingly captured the natural beauty and unique culture of Dominica.

“Famalay,” produced by Dominican producer Krishna “Dada” Lawrence, was awarded the Road March Title in Trinidad and Tobago 2019 Carnival.

The Ministry of Tourism and Culture also expressed congratulations to Mr. Lawrence on his achievements and describes it as a “true representation of regional collaboration and a stellar achievement for a Dominica on the regional entertainment scene.”
