In light of “Women’s Week”, Ministry of Ecclesiastical Affairs, Family and Gender Affairs, in collaboration with the Bureau of Gender Affairs will host their Exceptional Women’s Award Ceremony this evening.
The theme of this year’s Women’s Week is “A Better Balance in order to Achieve Sustainable Development and a Resilient Dominica”
Coordinator of the Bureau of Gender affairs, Melissa Morgan informed DA Vibes that the women will be awarded in five different categories which are: family life, church, community development, agriculture and leadership.
“The awards was conceived four years ago in an effort to provide a platform for notable females in Dominica and to recognize inspirational women of tomorrow.”
Morgan also stated that the Bureau of Gender affairs seeks to address and challenge the gender-imbalance in various sectors by showcasing the achievements of women and identifying the role models.
The Award Ceremony is carded for 7:00 p.m at the Old Mill Cultural Center.
