Dominica Police force PRO confirms arrests over the Carnival season

Public Relations Officer of The Dominica Police force, Simon Edwards, confirmed that Carnival 2019 concluded without any major incidents.

Edwards, said,  however, there were eight arrests  made within Roseau district for breaches of the Carnival Order, example: possession of an offensive weapon.

Edwards confirmed with DA Vibes that one of the arrests was of an individual in the out district. He was also arrested for possession of an offensive weapon.

Edwards also relayed details of some of the arrests made which are currently being investigated.

Ryan Shilingford, male adult of the USA residing in Layou was charged for having in his possession a firearm without being the licensed owner and for discharging it in a public place. The incident occurred at Newtown about 12:00 p.m. on Mar.2, 2019

On Mar.3,2019, Samuel Frederick,27, of St Lucia was charged for possession with intent to supply 28 grams of cannabis. The incident occurred on at about 10:30 a.m., on the Roseau Ferry Terminal.

It was also reported that Kester Cyprien  of Bath Estate was charged for possession of cocaine and cannabis. The incident occurred on Thursday Feb.28, 2019 at Bath Estate.

DA Vibes will update the public as soon as investigations are discontinued.
