The Dominica Cricket Umpire Association (DCUA) has announced the date for a general meeting and executive election.
This meeting is carded for Mar. 13, 2019 at the Dominica Football Association Football house in Bath Estate at 4:30 p.m.
At this meeting there several important matters to be discussed also following the meeting there will be a recruiting session for new umpires and an executive election.
According to President of the DCUA, Heston Charles, this election is long overdue as the last election was held four years ago and it was originally supposed to take place biyearly.
Charles says the elections are always being set back as a consequent of measures beyond the association’s control.
However Charles along with the support of other members of the association, feels that now is an opportune time for the elections seeing that the executive is currently incomplete as some members have resigned.
In addition, Charles commended pioneers of the association Phillip Alleyne and Lennox Abraham. He says they’ve served as umpires diligently and have done a remarkable job.
“They were able to hold up the banner of the DCUA for 52 years and we are able to use this opportunity to express our gratitude to these men.” Charles remarked.
