Five young ladies will vie for the title of Miss Dominica Carnival Queen 2019 this weekend.
The pageant is expected to be carried out under the theme, ‘A sizzling explosion amidst royal splendor’. Speaking at a Dominica Festivals Committee Press conference, held at the Prevost Cinemall ball room, head of the Queen Show Committee, Miss Ramaulda Hyacinth stated that “The carnival queen pageant aims to highlight the extra-ordinary beauty, diversity, talent and intelligence of young women who will serve as ambassadors for Dominica.”
Miss Hyacinth went on to say that the pageant provides benefits and boosts the confidence and self esteem of the contestants.
The Miss Dominica Carnival Queen contestants are Aaliyah Martin of Campbell, sponsored by Corisav Inc. , Christline Tavernier of Grandbay sponsored by T-Calypso, EZ Barrel and Big Edge Financial Express, Anick Wiliams of Goodwill, sponsored by National Health Insurance, Marisol John of Copthall sponsored by D-Treads Tyres Inc. and Britney Felix of St.Joseph, sponsored by Dominica National Lottery.
The contestants are expected to be presented in six diffrent segments, five of which will be judged.
The event is carded for the evening of Mar. 1, 2019 from 8:00 p.m. It will be hosted by Local artists Starsha and Colton T. The tickets cost $50.oo, standing and $70.00 sitting. The VIP tickets cost $120.00.
