Post Maria progress continues as the Layou Bridge is currently being reconstructed.
Due to the passing of Hurricane Maria, the Hillsborough Bridge at Layou had been fully compromised and created an inconvenience in the level of traffic flow on that particular part of the island.
Parliamentary Minister of the St. Joseph constituency, Hon. Kelver Darroux confirmed that though there had been some challenges after the disaster, the contractor of the project is ensuring that the project is a success.
“The government had to ensure that we do all that is necessary to get that bridge back to a position where we can have traffic flowing as it used to be before Hurricane Maria.”
A massive crane is on site, to facilitate the project. Hon. Darroux expressed his gratitude for the patience of everyone who utilizes this particular route on a daily basis and stated that the government has made a progressive move regarding the Layou Bridge Project.
He additionally said that soon the bridge will be rehabilitated and there will be efficient traffic flow.
