It has been announced that the Dominica Labour Party (DLP) Delegates Conference 2019 is scheduled for Sunday 17th February.
The date announcement of the conference was made by the National Council in a meeting earlier this week.
The Delegates Conference is an annual responsibility that is legally required by the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Dominica.
According to the General Secretary of the DLP Mr Edward Registe, this is the first conference the DLP will host since the passage of Tropical Storm Ericka. The reason the conferences has not been kept according to the constitution is because the DLP decided to prioritize and focused on the rebuilding of the country which was further delayed by Hurricane Maria.
In light of the progress made in the recovery process in Dominica, the decision to host the Delegations Conference was taken by the members of the party.
There will be a formal and a business session at the conference. The formal session entails speeches by selected dignitaries inclusive of the Honorable Prime Minister. During the business session 210 delegates will elect a new executive to run the affairs of the party.
This conference will take place in Londonderry at 2 pm.
