Government has taken a deliberate decision to expand the economy that’s according to Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit.
Mr. Skerrit made this remark during a debate on the amendments to the Offshore Banking Act in Parliament on Monday 21st January, 2019.
He said amendments to the Act demanded by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) could have a negative impact on the Sector.
“I can say to the country that very early in realizing the demand in relation to the international financial sector we have ensure that we have never rely heavily on the sector,” Mr. Skerrit said.
Mr. Skerrit says there have been investment in education and building of hotels so there will be jobs available.
Mr. Skerrit also said the government will build: a cargo port; cruise ship village and; the international airport for the country.
