Digicel launched its new and improved LTE network to Dominicans on Tuesday 15th January, 2019.
The launch of the LTE network was held at the Fort Young Hotel.
Chief Executive Officer at Digicel Dominica Nikima Royer Jno Baptiste says the launch of the new LTE network will transform the sector.
She says Digicel is committed to ensuring that the upgrades will enable customers to enjoy more of what they love most, offering them the best quality and experience possible.
The launch of LTE continues to demonstrate Digicel innovation and is a major step in equipping Dominica with most modern communication and entertainment infrastructure while improving the countries rates of internet penetration. LTE is the very latest in commercial available data technology with speeds of up to “ten times faster than 4G,” Mrs. Royer – Jno Baptiste said.
Meantime Minister for Information, Science, Telecommunications and Technology Darroux says customers should take advantage of the newly introduced LTE network.
Mr. Darroux said government must congratulate Digicel for its aggressive competitive strategy which has caused prices for services such as mobile internet and data to be attractive.
“As new services and technology are introduced to the customers, service providers must continue to educate the public on the effective and efficient use of their service in order to encourage greater consumer access to the technology which in turn increases services obtained,” Darroux said.
