Dominica welcomed the MV Star Pride of Wind Star Cruises on Wednesday January 9, 2019.
The vessel arrived at the Roseau Cruise Ship Berth with a total of 208 cruise passengers. This marked the first of four scheduled calls that the ship will make to Dominica for the 2018/2019 cruise season.
To commemorate the ship’s first call, a ceremony to include plaque exchange was held aboard ship at 10:00 am. A Plaque depicting Dominica’s National Bird, the Sisserou Parrot was presented to the ships’ captain.
The call of MV Star Pride marks the eighth inaugural cruise calls to Dominica for the 2018/2019 cruise season.
MV Star Pride was formally known as the Seabourn Pride. It is one of three German built cruise ships that were initially built for the Seabourn Cruise Line. The ship is now operated by Windstar Cruises.
A total of 176 cruise calls are projected for the 2018/2019 cruise season. This translates into a total of 278,134 cruise passengers.
