Psychiatric evaluation ordered for murder accused

Accused murderer, Norman Ronald of Fond Cole was sent to the Psychiatric Unit of the Princess Margaret Hospital. He will be evaluated for 14 days.

According to a report from Police Public Relations Officer Inspector Simon Edwards the accused was brought before the court on Thursday 3rd January, 2019.

Norman is accused of stabbing multiple women in the vicinity of the Roseau Market. This resulted in the death of a Haitian woman and while at least 3 others were injured on Monday 31st December, 2018.

Inspector Edwards said the accused had misbehaved in the court so the charge was not read to him. As a result, he was sent to the Psychiatric Unit.

Norman will appear in court again on  17th January, 2019.
