Cannabis consultations to continue in 2019

In an interview with Vibes News on December 27th 2018, the coordinator of the National Cannabis Committee, Dr. Donald peters reported that the National Cannabis Committee have been liaising with the Cannabis Commission of Massachusetts to look at the process and regulations as they have used it to legalize marijuana for medical and personal use in that state.

In November 2018, the first cannabis consultation was held where there were discussions from various perspectives on the topic of legalizing the use of marijuana in Dominica. Where it was regarded as a timely consultation by Minister for National Security Hon. Rayburn Blackmoore as he felt that the topic was one that was inevitable. Thus, the Minister encouraged discussions on this subject.

Moreover Dr Peters mentioned in the interview that consultations will continue during the new year because of its importance and that some of the consultations will be presentations from various local and international groups. He also added that he wishes to continue discussions with the citizens on this topic in order to receive feedback from the communities before a decision is made.
