The Dominica State Prison and the Princess Margaret Hospital were selected as the institutions to benefit from the Non-Stop Praise Christmas Outreach program this year.
Over the past eight years, institutions that have benefited from the Christmas Outreach Program have included: the Grotto Home; the State Prison; and The Princess Margaret Hospital.
The activities hosted at the State Prison included: a praise and worship session; Christmas caroling; distribution of bibles; performances by guest artists; and an exhortation by the host, Mr. Heston Charles. The exhortation was entitled: “The Most Powerful Formula/Equation: Knowing what happens to you.”
The event was attended by a number of the inmates who were selected by the Prison Administration. The prisoners expressed their appreciation for the event. According to Mr. Charles, over the years prisoners have benefited from this program in a positive way, as it has caused them to reflect on their lives and to choose better paths when they are discharged.
The next Christmas Outreach program will be hosted at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Sunday 23rd December 2018, from 3 pm – 5 pm. Mobile patients will be assembled in the main foyer whilst immobile patients will listen to the live coverage over the radio.
There will be performances by: The Smith Brothers; Tyson Johnson; Hilltop Singers; The Badouille Sisters; and and The Pendenque Sisters.
Food hampers will also be presented to the patients, compliments of: Whitchurch IGA Supermarket; Miniya’s 7-11 plus; AC Shillingfords; Reubens Bakery; and CORP EFF.
Mr Charles said that he hopes the Christmas Outreach Program will continue to give hope and share love to persons in these institutions, throughout the Christmas season. “The program is to give people the assurance that even if they may feel physically restricted, God is always with them through it all,” he said.
Mr. Charles commended those who made contributions toward the event and especially expressed his profound gratitude towards his main sponsors; Big Edge Financial Express; Bullseye Pharmacy; Vibes Radio; and the Princess Margaret Hospital Administration.
Mr. Charles encourages the public to support the Christmas Outreach Program at the Princess Margaret Hospital, on the 23rd of December 2018.
