Games continue in the Secondary Schools Football Championship

The Sports Division will this week hold the finals of the Secondary Schools Football Championship in the Under 15 and Under 20 Division at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.

On Friday, 14th December, 2018 the Castle Bruce Secondary School will go up against the Portsmouth Secondary School in the Under 15 Division at 1:30pm. On the same day at 3:30pm, the Portsmouth Secondary School will play against the Dominica State College in the Under 20 Division.

Both Teams in the final of the Under 15 division comes from Zone B.  Castle Bruce Secondary School topped the Zone with seven points while Portsmouth Secondary School secured second with six points.

In the semi-finals, Castle Bruce Secondary School won over  second place by beating Dominica Grammar School of Zone A, one goal to nil.

In the other semi-final Portsmouth Secondary School took down Zone A winner, the Saint Mary’s Academy, four goals to three to secure their place in the finals.  Castle Bruce Secondary School scored nine goals during the Zonal stage while Portsmouth Secondary School scored eight goals.

In the race for the Under-20 division title: Portsmouth Secondary School secured their place into the finals of the Under 20 division by being the overall winner of the Round Robin League phase. They gained an automatic spot in the final.  The third placed team during the Round Robin stage, Dominica State College the, defending champion, secured their spot into the final with a win in the play-off match against second placed, Dominica Grammar School with a three goals to two victory.   Portsmouth Secondary School scored twelve goals in the Round Robin stage whilst Dominica State College scored sixteen goals.
