The residents of the Mahaut Senior Citizens Home were graced with the presence of His Excellency Charles Savarin and Mrs. Savarin.

The Mahaut Senior Citizens Home was officially opened seven years ago. Renovations are ongoing due to the damages caused by the passage of hurricane Maria last year.

Manager of the home, Mrs. Audrey Thomas extended gratitude to the President’s Charity for the continued support that has been showed to the home.

The President presented a cheque to the manager of the home and also commended the staff of the Senior Citizens Home for their hard work and dedication, as they continue to provide quality care to the senior citizens at the home.

As a result of the additional donations received at the Charity Dinner this year, the President, His Excellency Charles Savarin, announced that an additional amount of $500 will be added to each of the organisations supported by the President’s Charity Foundation. The Charity Dinner held on Saturday 13th October, 2018, marked the Fifteenth Annual President’s Charities Dinner.

The presentation at the Mahaut Senior Citizen’s Home is one of several of His Excellency’s Christmas visits this year. Other visits include: the Dominica Infirmary; the Northern District Home for the Aged Inc., Grange Portsmouth; Care of the Elderly, Portsmouth; Grotto Home for the Homeless; and Princess Margaret Hospital.
