Death of Marigot woman in vehicular accident

The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force is investigating a fatal vehicular collision between a concrete mix truck and a HRV that occurred at 4:30pm on Tuesday 11th, December 2018 in North End, Marigot.

According to reports given by the Police Public Relations Officer, Officer Simon Edwards the concrete mix truck involved in the accident was driven by a Cuban male national whereas the HRV was driven by a 29 years old male from Marigot. He was transporting three passengers; two male and one female. Unfortunately there has been one confirmed death which is of 36 year old Valina Stoute also of Marigot.

“Information indicates that the truck was travelling in a southern direction on the main road in Marigot while the HRV was traveling in a northern direction on the same road when the driver of the HRV lost control of the vehicle which geared off its lane and slammed into the truck.” reported Officer Simon Edwards.

The officer stated that “occupants of the HRV received multiple serious injuries, they were transported to the Wesley Health Center and was examined by the district medical doctor.

Valina Stoute was officially pronounced dead by the doctor and her body was transported to the North Eastern Funeral Home. The three surviving occupants were transported to the Princess Margaret Hospital and were admitted as patients.
