Chief Executive Officer of the Dominica Air and Sea Port Authority (DASPA) Benoit Bardouille said the aim of DASPA is to protect passengers and Dominica’s borders.
Mr. Bardouille made this statement while addressing participants of the Screener Certification Training on Monday 3rd December, 2018.
Mr. Bardouille said the Screener Certification Training will assist screeners on duty at various points of entry.
“From the board to the last person operating at the airport, we want to ensure the public is safe,” Mr. Bardouille stated.
Mr. Bardouille said screening of passengers moving through the ports of entry in Dominica is a critical component in protecting Dominica’s borders.
Mr. Bardouille said the aim of the training is to enhance the screener’s performance.
“As a result the effectiveness of the screening done at the ports of entry is to detect threat objects and to intercept anything that is not in compliance with the law,” Mr. Bardouille said.
The Screener Certification Training is being conducted by Arthnel Jordan, from the Ministry of St. Kitts & Nevis Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Aviation.
The training began on Monday 3rd December and will end on Friday 7th December, 2018 at the training room of DASPA.
