Screener Certification Training, which has been organized by the Dominica Air & Sea Port Authority (DASPA) starts today.
This training will run from today, Monday, December 3, 2018 to Friday, December 07, 2018 at the training room of DASPA.
The Screener Certification Training is being conducted by Arthnel Jordan, from the Ministry of St. Kitts & Nevis Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Aviation.
The course is based on International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards and recommended practices. It focuses on screening the first line defense against terrorism in international aviation and is designed to enhance aviation security screener skills.
The main focus of the training is to ensure that there are qualified screeners that meet with ICAO standards, and to enhance the screener’s ability to detect threat items using: x-ray machines; metal detection portals; physical search techniques; and explosive trace detection technologies.
DASPA is seeking to enhance the level of professionalism and alertness provided by it’s staff at the various ports of entry.
