The Dominica Air & Sea Ports Authority (DASPA) will be conducting Screener Certification Training to be conducted by Messrs. Royston Griffin and Arthnel Jordan, from the Ministry of St. Kitts & Nevis Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Aviation.
Mr. Griffin’s extensive service in the field of security spans a wide section of disciplines who currently carries out the function of Regulator/Oversight Officer with the Department of Maritime and Aviation. Mr. Jordan works within the Regulatory Body that governs Civil Aviation in St. Kitts.
The main focus of this training is to ensure that we have qualified Screeners that meet with ICAO standards, and to enhance the Screener’s ability to detect threat items using x-ray machines, metal detection portals, physical search techniques and explosive trace detection technologies.
DASPA is seeking to enhance the level of professionalism and alertness in conducting their duties when persons are travelling through our Ports of entry.
The course is based on International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards and recommended practices, and focuses on screening the first line defense against terrorism in international aviation, and is designed to enhance aviation security Screener skills.
This training is carded to commence on Monday, December 3, 2018 to Friday, December 07, 2018 at the training room of DASPA.
