Haitian National charged with murder of Portsmouth resident

One Haitian National residing in Portsmouth has been arrested and charged with murder as the Police force concluded its investigations into a homicide that occurred last Wednesday.

According to a report from the Public Relations Officer for the Police Force, Inspector Simon Edwards, 31 year old Emanice Normil, who resided in Lagoon Portsmouth, was charged with the murder of 20 year old Louna Demezi, who also resided in Lagoon Portsmouth.

Edwards stated that a missing person report was filed at the Portsmouth Police Station by the mother of the deceased in the early hours of Thursday, November 22nd 2018, when her daughter did not return home from work at her usual time in the evening of Wednesday.

Normil is currently remanded in custody at the Dominica State Prison and his trial date is scheduled for February 12th 2019.

The body of the young lady has not been recovered.
