A construction accident has left one man dead and another nursing serious injuries at the Princess Margaret Hospital.
In a release from the Police Public Relations Officer, Inspector Simon Edwards, the men were working on a concrete building, when a wall collapsed trapping the two men beneath the rubble.
“At 12:15 pm on Thursday November 15 2018 a concrete building in La Plaine was being demolished when part of the structure fell on sixty five year old James Bertrand and forty eight year old Henry Lestrade, both from La Plaine. They sustained multiple injuries to their bodies including hip, abdomen and legs,” Inspector Edwards stated.
He went on to add that “they were then transported to the Accident & Emergency Ward of the PMH, where James Bertrand succumbed to his injuries at the ICU later that same day.”
