The Point Ronde Bailey Bridge has been severely compromised due to the heavy rainfall which has occurred over the past few days, according to information reaching the Vibes Radio News desk.
The bridge has reportedly collapsed and has been deemed totally impassable for motor vehicles.
Students attending the Authur Waldron Seventh Day Adventist Academy were advised to stay home, while others have been asked to take alternative routes.
Vibes Radio News have also learnt that equipment and personnel have been sent to the site to repair the damage.
This Bailey Bridge was the first to be installed following the widespread damage cause by Tropical Storm Erika in August of 2015.
