Representative of the Environmental Health Division, Calma Louis says Environmental Health has a pivotal role in ensuring all food sold to the public is safe and sanitary during the independence activities.
Mrs. Louis spoke at a World Creole Music Festival press conference held at Prevost Cinemall on Wednesday.
“Our main goal is to prevent or minimize the risk of food borne illnesses and maximize safety of participants, spectators, staff, visitors and the public in general,” Mrs. Louis said.
She noted that staff of the Environmental Health will be inspecting food stalls during the event to ensure that all health standards are met.
Some of the stalls that will be inspected include artist booth, media booth and vendor’s booth.
Mrs. Louis advised person to cooperate with the environmental health workers when they are performing their job.
