DGS tops Secondary School Athletics Meet

The Dominica Grammar School has once again emerged victorious in the Sports Division held the 37th Annual Secondary School Independence Athletics Meet.

The meet was held on the 10th and 12th of October at the Benjamin’s Park, in Portsmouth.

The meet was a deemed a huge success as all the planned events were able to take place.

Fourteen (14) schools participated in this year’s meet with the Dominica Grammar School emerging as champions in both boys and girls categories.

The school topped the boys’ categories with two hundred and fifteen points, followed by North East Comprehensive with one hundred and forty-two points with Isaiah Thomas Secondary School in third place with one hundred points.

In the girls’ category, DGS topped the table with one hundred and ninety one points, followed by the NECS with one hundred and six points with Portsmouth Secondary School in third place with eighty six points.

Other participating school included the Saint Mary Academy, Dominica State College Goodwill Secondary School, Castle Bruce Secondary and Orion Academy.
