Venezuelans arrested with cocaine, gun and ammunition

Three Venezuelan nationals were arrested on suspicion of possession of cocaine, firearm and ammunition, in Bellevue Chopin.

A report from Police Public Relation Officer Inspector Simon Edward states that the men were arrested by the Officers of the Drug Squad Unit and the Grand Bay Police of the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force at 6.a.m. on Wednesday 12th September, 2018.

They were arrested on suspicion of possession to cocaine with intent to supply and possession of firearm without being the holder of a valid license.

According to Inspector Edward a sum of 5500 grams of alleged cocaine, two 9 mm pistols and 22 rounds of live ammunition were discovered in their possession.

The individuals and items were transported to police headquarters for ongoing investigation.
