The government of Dominica has taken the decision to suspend work for public officers on Thursday 12 September 2018.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit made this announcement during a press briefing Wednesday morning.
He also advised employers within the private sector to do the same.
Mr. Skerrit added that essential personnel will be required to report to work.
Meanwhile, he will be meeting with the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force later today to be advised on security of the island.
A decision in regards to issuing a State of Emergency and curfew has not yet been made.
The Prime Minister encouraged citizens to remain calm and prepare themselves, families and properties for the passage of Tropical Storm Isaac.
He also asked that persons receive the weather updates from the authorized body, the Dominica Meteorological Service and the Officer of Disaster Management.
Tropical Storm Isaac is expected to pass over Dominica by early Thursday.
