A hurricane watch has been issued for Dominica ahead of the passage of the weather system which is approaching the island.
This was announced during a press briefing at the Media Room in the Office of the Prime Minister on Tuesday.
Though now a tropical storm, Isaac has winds of seventy miles per hour therefore Dominica has been placed under a hurricane watch.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit following a meeting of the National Emergency Planning Organisation (NEPO) said they will continue to meet as the days go by.
Plans will be adjusted as updates will be given.
He urged all persons to take heed regardless of the type of the weather system.
Mr. Skerrit said the hope and prayer is that the storm weakens and disappears however said the entire island should still make sufficient preparations, bearing in mind what occurred during the passage of hurricane Maria.
NEPO he said is therefore not taking any chances and also urged individuals to put their emergency plans into action.
